Here is 'Velox' - an agile swimming robot that can transition effortlessly from water to land, and travel over sand, snow and ice. Developed by US based company 'Pliant Energy Systems', the robot uses a pair of fins that allows it to swim like a ray, crawl like a millipede, jet like a squid, and slide like a snake.

During its movement, Velox can instantly reverse its direction and do quick turns. This skill makes the robot ideal for coral reef inspection or dragon fish hunting tasks, where it has to move quickly to look around and between objects.

Velox can be used for amphibious beach missions, ice rescues, polar ice missions, and personal propulsion for professional divers among others.
