About This Building…

Karl Marx Hof is the longest residential building in the heart of Vienna. At the end of the First World War in the year, 1918 many of the residents of Vienna left houseless. Almost 250,000 people tend to live in a jam-packed apartment or building which has no water. So, they decided to construct a residential apartment which is useful for all the people of Vienna.

This building was built between 1927 and 1930 by the then famous city planner Karl Ehn. This colossal building consists of a total of 1,382 apartments which is located in the 19th district of Vienna named Dobling.

Structure…

This longest building is situated at the end of the U4 metro line and is nestled with laundries, kindergartens, pools, stores, residencies, clinic, pharmacy and also a post office. This tenement forms a courtyard which has a garden in which kids and people enjoy most of their time by playing and relaxing. The best scene of this building is the sunset. That orange coloured shade of the Sun will make the building to glitter.

Length…

This has covered a kilometre area and the most interesting part is, there are four tram stops along the length of this dragged-out building. And, it is impossible to fit the whole building in one picture frame. This is crazy right??? We guess, now you can imagine the length of the building.

Segregation Of The Building…
