As we all know that Easter is the renowned festival celebrated by Christians all over the world. Today being the 'Easter Sunday', we EeYuva are here with a small description of Easter and its celebrations.
Palm Sunday, is the Sunday before Easter. This year Easter falls on the 21st of April, so Palm Sunday was on the 14th of April. Palm Sunday is the great day which is celebrated with complete happiness by Christians all over the world as Jesus entered Jerusalem city as a King and Savior.
This day is given the name as 'Palm Sunday' especially because the people of Jerusalem welcomed Jesus by placing Palm branches on the road while Jesus was riding a horse and entering Jerusalem with pride and honour.
The week followed by the Palm Sunday is celebrated as 'Holy Week', which includes 'Easter Triduum'. Many of the Christian countries give national holidays on Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and on Easter Monday.
Easter Triduum includes three special days of this holy week which are as follows: Maundy Thursday meaning washing the feet of Jesus and the last supper of Jesus along with his Apostles. Good Friday is the day when Jesus was nailed to a cross and brought to death by the Romans and Easter Sunday is believed to be the most important day where God raised Jesus from the dead after his crucifixion.

Many Christians reach this place on Easter to know the history and also believed to be the holy place.
This is the way where Jesus walked to his crucifixion. This is often referred to as the 'Painful way' or 'Way Of Suffering'. It is today marked as the nine 'Stations Of the Cross' which is covered by the images of Jesus on the day of crucifixion.
This is one of the four quarters of the Old City of Jerusalem. The three being Muslim Quarter, Jewish Quarter and the Armenian Quarter.
