Where Is It Located???

This buzzing temple is located in Bateshwar which is a village in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. This place is considered as the important and most spiritual location by Hindus and Jains.

History…

There are many myths associated with the history of this place. Some say that this is the birthplace of Lord Krishna's mother. According to some legends, it is believed that, this is the place where Lord Shiva took some rest under the Banyan Tree hence got the name Bateshwar. According to Jain legends, it is said that, the 22nd Tirthankar, Lord Neminathji was born at this location hence there are several beautiful Jain temples observed here.

All these 101 temples are lined up alongside the ghats which direct you to the water level. It is said that all these temples are painted with traditional vegetable paints. The king of Bhadwar Dynasty named King Badan Singh is the person behind this plethora of temples construction.

Festivals and Rituals…

Every year the most biggest cattle fair is held in this location. And, this ritual is being followed by the locals since four centuries. This is the biggest cattle fair that happens in north India.

How To Reach There???

Bateshwar is connected by road and rail. The nearest railway station is Bateshwar Railway station but it is a small halt station. Agra-Bah road is the road line which connects this location.
