This prestigious palace is located in Bhuj district, Gujarat State. The palace was constructed under the supervision of 'Rao Lakhpatji' who was the ruler of Cutch dynasty.

Legendary Artist Behind This Mahal...

Ram Singh Malam who was a trained artisan in Europe for about 17 years had designed the entire palace with an Indo-European touch of glass, mirrors and Chinese tiles.

Detailing The Palace…

This palace consists of two floors in total which have their own significances... The first floor has the Audience Hall, the Pleasure Hall and the Hall Of Mirrors. While the Second floor has the ante-chamber, Darbar Hall and a Marriage Hall.

Modifications…

This beautiful palace underwent some modifications after the 2001 Gujarat earthquake and converted into a museum which consists of various locale artistry including European designs.

Hira Mahal in the palace is the centre of attraction as it was designed using semi-precious pearls and this was used as Maharaja's bedroom. A pendulum clock which is synchronisation with the Hindu calendar, doors which are installed with gold and ivory, the superlative glass work throughout the palace are the wonders of the artisanship.

Timings and Charges…

This is situated at the northeast corner of Hamirsar Lake. Timings to visit this palace are 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This is closed on Thursday and one need to pay 20 Rupees/person to enter into this place. Ten Rupees extra is charged for photography.

How To Reach There…

One can reach this place by bus from Ahmedabad. State transport is also available to take you to that place. Bhuj Express and Kutch Express are the daily two trains available to reach this place. One or more flights are daily connected to Bhuj.
