The English batsman Jos Buttler continued his red-hot form in this season as he struck his fifth successive fifty to register the Rajasthan Royals (RR) to a thrilling 7-wicket victory over the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday night.

Once again, Jos Buttler (94*) played sensational innings for his team as Rahane & his boys chased the modest target with 2 overs to spare. Let us have a look at the highlights of the 47th IPL encounter between MI & RR.

  • Ajinkya Rahane leading Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to chase the target at Sachin's home ground.

  • The tourists made three changes to their playing XI by including Shreyas Gopal, Dhawal Kulkarni and D'Arcy Short in place of Prashant Chopra, Ankit Sharma and Ish Sodhi.

  • On the other hand, the hosts decided to continue with the same playing XI from their last game.

Mumbai Indians Innings

  • Mumbai openers Evin Lewis and Suryakumar Yadav started the innings on a steady note as the duo scored 87 runs for the opening wicket partnership.

Rajasthan Royals Innings

  • Rajasthan openers D Arcy Short and Jos Buttler started the chase on a poor note as the left-hand batsman D Arcy Short (4) fell cheaply for the Jasprit Bumrah in the first over.

  • However, RR skipper Ajinkya Rahane joined the hands with Jos Buttler to rotate the strike in regular intervals to keep the tourists in the hunt.

  • Ajinkya Rahane and Jos Buttler established a 95-run stand for the second wicket partnership. The duo played sensibly as Rahane rotated the strike with a-run-a-ball knock while Jos Buttler played aggressively to chase the target comfortably.
