IND Vs Essex: The Warm-Up Game Was Draw As It Was Useful Practise For Kohli & Co

The practise game between Team India and Essex ends in a draw as Virat Kohli and his boys got the solid batting practise at the County Ground in Chelmsford. Indian batsmen showed some solid performance on a green track.

At the end of the last day, India were 82/2 in the second innings as Team India were bundled out for 395 runs in the first innings. Essex scored 359 runs with the loss of 8 wickets and declared their first innings.

In India's second innings, Shikhar Dhawan once again got duck out and this time right-hander KL Rahul opened the innings with left-hander Dhawan. The Delhi dasher Dhawan was bowled in the Matthew Quinn's bowling.

The first drop batsman Cheteshwar Pujara scored 23 runs in 35 balls with 5 beautiful boundaries. Pujara was caught by V Chopra in the P Walter's bowling. The opening batsman KL Rahul made unbeaten 36 runs with 7 fences to the rope while Ajinkya Rahane scored 19 runs in 27 balls with 3 fours.

Earlier, Essex were declared their first innings with the score of 359 runs with the loss of 8 wickets. In their first innings, Paul Walter (75) was the top-scorer for his team. Tom Westley (57), Michael (68) and James Foster (42) made decent scores on the board.

Quick-man Umesh Yadav scalped 4 wickets, Ishant Sharma bagged 3 wickets and Shardul Thakur chipped a wicket. The spin trio of Ashwin, Jadeja and Kuldeep bowled 11 overs and even not picked a single wicket in the Essex first innings.

India were all-out for 395 runs in the first innings. Dinesh Karthik (85) was the top-scorer in India's first innings. Murali Vijay (53), Virat Kohli (68), KL Rahul (58), Hardik Pandya (51) and Rishabh Pant (34*) were batted decently on a green track. For Essex, Paul Walter bagged 4 wickets, Matt Coles snipped 2 wickets, except Shane Snater and all other bowlers chipped a wicket each.

The practise match ends in a draw as Virat Kohli & Co got some good practise before the first Test match. With the bowl, Mohammed Shami, Ashwin, Jadeja, Kuldeep and Hardik Pandya didn't pick a single wicket as they show some ordinary performance on the track while Shikhar Dhawan, Cheteshwar Pujara, Karun Nair and Jadeja failed to score runs with the bat.

The first Test match between India and England will begins on August 1 at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.
