The Eenadu Champion Cricket Cup regional level final matches were played at the Daniel Ground, Peerzadiguda in Uppal. The young talented players were so excited and pumped up while playing the regional level final match. In junior category level, the Sri Chaitanya Junior College (Ramanthapur) and St. Mary’s Junior College (Basheerbagh) played the regional finals.
The Sri Chaitanya Junior College (Ramanthapur) defeated St. Mary’s Junior College by 44 runs and clinched the trophy at the regional finals. The winning team captain Gaurav Reddy claimed 4 wickets and scored 30 runs while St. Mary’s Junior College captain Sandeep Yadav scored 23 runs for their respective teams.
The ECC Cup started in 2006 with 300 teams, in 2007 with 802 teams, in 2008 with 1265, in 2010 with 1492, in 2011 with 1496, in 2012 with 1226, in 2013 with 1573, in 2014 with 1581, in 2015 with 1683, in 2016 with 1685, in 2017 with 1700 teams and its magnitude has gone from strength to strength every passing year.
The former India A player and former Hyderabadi Cricket Team captain Vanitha Voyala attended as a chief guest for the final event. The runners and winners have received the certificates, trophy and mementoes from the chief guest and event management.
