Dale Steyn's maiden fifer registered against New Zealand during the first Test at Centurion in 2006. Jacob Oram's hundred helped visitors to get a 51-run lead after the first innings and the hosts scored 299. Kiwis needed 248 runs to win the match.
Steyn and Makhaya Ntini displayed fantastic bowling against Black Caps batsmen and both claimed 5-wicket haul each. Ntini bagged the top three batsmen wickets and then Steyn came into action and dismantled the middle order, picking Stephen Fleming, Scott Styris, Brendon McCullum and Daniel Vettori with his magical deliveries. Steyn registered the victory for his team and his own milestone came by picking Chris Martin wicket to end the Black Cap’s innings with the tourists lost the match by 128 runs.

While his performance against Australia is considered as one of the greatest Test matches in his entire career. Steyn took 5 wickets in each innings and scored invaluable 76 runs in the first innings at the Melbourne Cricket Ground against mighty Australia in 2008. First, Australia scored 394 in the first innings while the right arm speedster claimed 5-wicket haul, but in reply, the Proteas players slipped to 251/8. When Steyn came to bat it looks like SA would all-out for below 270 but the No 10 batsman Steyn scored 76 runs and contributed 180-run stand with JP Duminy, which gave the 65-run lead for SA.
Bowling in the second innings, Dale Steyn gutted the Aussies batting order and the home team were all-out for 247 runs. In reply, SA needed 183 runs to win and they chased the target very comfortably.

South Africa's top bowler registered his career-best against Dhoni & team at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur in 2010. With his devastating spell of reverse-swing bowling, Dale Steyn knocked out the Indian team on a batting-friendly condition as SA won the match by an innings and six runs.
