Though Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 ended on a successful note a week ago, the deluge of technologies it has showcased be etched on our minds till they take effect. There were 5G smartphones, foldable devices, high-end camera units, advanced laptops, accessories and many other innovations that are aimed at bringing a recognisable breakthrough in the mobile market!
Cutting to the chase, here is a short list of smartphones and their unique features unveiled at MWC 2019!
Five Rear Cameras With Zeiss Optics - Nokia 9 PureView
This time Nokia took an entirely new path with 'Nokia 9 PureView'. The smartphone gets whooping five camera lenses at the rear that bring out unbelievable contrast and exceptional dynamic range to your photos in any lighting conditions. All the 5 lenses come with 12MP sensors, where two of them are known to have RGB lenses and three are the monochrome (black & white) lenses. So, unlike the single lens smartphones, the sensors on Nokia 9 PureView grab up to 10 times more light and ensure accurate depth-of-field, preserves all the details and texture from highlights and shadows, true-to-life colours, etc.
Users can refocus a shot in the Google Photos after capturing, adjust blurness (bokeh effect), download Adobe photoshop lightroom for editing RAW photos, make real-time adjustments like white balance, ISO, shutter speed, exposure timing, etc., using Pro Camera UI, switch to monochrome mode to shoot black and white photos instead of converting after the shoot, etc.

Air Motion And Front-Display Speaker - LG G8 ThinQ
Besides V50 ThinQ 5G, LG has got another flagship device in its kitty and it is 'LG G8 ThinQ' which has got a pretty design and many interesting features that introduce new ways of interaction. The most exciting feature of the smartphone is its 'Air Motion' that allows users to unlock, open/close apps, answer/reject calls, increase/decrease volume, snooze alarms, take selfies, capture screenshots, etc., just by waving their hand (palm) at it! So, you won't even touch your smartphone!
Well, this can be achieved with a new 3D sensor, Hand ID. Leveraging the TOF sensor (in Z Camera, the 8MP front camera) and infrared sensors, Hand ID captures the vein patterns of your palm just with a quick scan and authenticates you!
'Air Motion' can read your palm when it is wet and has hand gloves.
The other interesting facet of the device is the 'front-display speaker'. Meaning the entire screen of LG G8 ThinQ is a speaker now! It emanates rich and dynamic audio directly towards you! Obviously, you won't find an earpiece.
Let's look into the other features of LG G8 ThinQ:
