For many months, huge speculations are doing rounds on social media that HMD Global, the official licensee of Nokia smartphones, will launch the modern version of Nokia X. Many leaks have been surfaced till the company has put an end to all those speculations by launching a new smartphone called 'Nokia X6' in China on May 16.
Nokia X6 is the first smartphone from the company that includes a notch on the top. This first Android smartphone in the Nokia X-series sports 5.8-inch FHD+ display with 2280x1080 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 19:9 to deliver an immersive full-screen viewing experience.
The sleek smartphone with glass body is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 636 chipset coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. Available in three variants - 4/32GB, 4/64GB and 6/64GB - the Nokia X6 is equipped with AI technology that takes your photography to the next level. The memory can be expanded up to 256GB via a memory card.
The handset sports a dual rear camera setup - primary 16MP RGB sensor with f/2.0 aperture and dual-tone LED flash and a secondary 5MP monochrome with f/2.2 aperture, AI portrait mode and scene recognition. The rear camera setup comes with HDR support for better photography. On the front, Nokia X6 features a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture to take beautiful selfies and for video calling.
Running stock Android 8.1 Oreo, Nokia X6 is upgradable to Android P in the future. The device is backed by 3060mAh battery with the support of Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology, touted that the handset can be charged to 50% from 0% just in half an hour.
Besides having a fingerprint scanner on the back, the device can also be unlocked by using the face recognition option.
The dual nano-SIM (hybrid) smartphone supports dual VoLTE means you can use VoLTE on both SIM cards. The Nokia X6 includes the connectivity options like 3.5mm headphone hack, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, GPS and other.
Available in Black, Blue and White colours, the smartphone is now available to grab in China and the company hasn't revealed any information regarding its availability in other countries including India.
