HMD Global Shown Off Its Nokia 8.1 Smartphone In Dubai

HMD Global, the new home of Nokia Phones has rolled out the next flagship device, Nokia 8.1 - the rebranded version of the global variant, Nokia X7, in Dubai on December 5. The successor to its mid-range Nokia 7 Plus has got all features fantastic especially PureDisplay Screen technology with HDR 10 support that ensures comfortable viewing experiences even in bright light.

Nokia 8.1 is also known to emanate superior quality photos with its ZEISS Optic technology. And the complementing OIS (Optical Image stabilisation) ensures shake-free shots.

The smartphone also boasts of Bothie which lets us click photos with front and rear cameras simultaneously, Pro Camera UI with manual camera options, 4K movie recording in support of high-fidelity Nokia spatial stereo surround sound recording with ‘Nokia OZO Audio’, Qualcomm aptX audio support ensures high quality wireless audio (over Bluetooth), etc.

Further, Nokia 8.1 also gets 'AR core' support which lets users visualise every simple detail in 3D. For instance, the pre-built app, 'Human Anatomy' lets you visualise the entire nervous system in 3D. Similarly, 'Magic Plan' lets you build floor plan for your house just by walking around the house, etc.

The design elements of Nokia 8.1 are extremely extraordinary. With 6000-series aluminium frame, curved edges (glass), polished metal and the sand-blasted finish make the device look super thin and fantastic.

In terms of connectivity, Nokia 8.1 has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, VoWiFi, Bluetooth v5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C.

Price/Availability: EUR 399 (Rs 32,000 approximately)/Available from mid-December in three colours Blue/Silver, Steel/Copper, Iron/Steel in European markets. India will see Nokia 8.1 on December 16.
