Asus Zenfone 6 Is Official! Comes With World's First Controllable Rotating Camera!

Written by : Tech Trends Team

Asus's new Zenfone 6 (ZS630KL) is finally official… and this time the company has targeted power users primarily. The smartphone is equipped with generous 5000mAh battery which offers 2 days of continuous power. With the support of 18W fast charger and Quick Charge 4.0, you would top up the battery in lesser time comparatively.

Not just battery unit, the successor to Zenfone 5Z, Zenfone 6 has got an excellent and new styled camera unit which is "Controllable Rotating Dual camera". Following the footsteps of Samsung, like its Galaxy A80, Asus for the first time introduced rotating camera unit on its Zenfone 6 which resides at the back and turns around when you want to capture selfies. The camera module with two sensors - 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.79 aperture and 13MP Ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.4 aperture and 125-degree FoV - and dual LED flash (in the middle) emanates great photos (selfies and standard photos) both in day and low-light with true-to-life colours.

Well, the interesting stuff doesn't end here. This flip (rotating) mechanism is totally user controllable.. meaning, users can stop the camera at any angle in the midway and click photos.

The other capabilities of the camera are 4K video recording at 60fps, 720p videos at 480fps slow motion videos (only main sensor), EIS (standard and selfie mode), HDR+ Enhanced mode, automatic panoramas and night mode.

Asus Zenfone 6 is also known to be the first smartphone to capture motion tracking videos. All you need is to just flip the camera (using the volume button) and start capturing the video… the motion tracking mode here automatically moves the camera when the subject in the frame moves.

When It Comes To The Other Features Of Zenfone 6, Here They Are

  • 6.4-inch full-HD+ IPS Nano edge display with 19.5:9 aspect and DCI-P3

  • 2340 x 1080 resolution & Corning Gorilla Glass 6 (on the front)

  • Android 9.0 Pie with ZenUI 6 on top

  • 7nm Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC & Adreno 640 GPU

  • 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB internal storage (UFS 2.1), expandable up to 2TB

  • 5000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 and 18W fast charge

  • Fingerprint sensor at the back and face unlock

Dark mode

In addition to the above, ZenUI 6 offers smoother and faster interface. Dark mode lets you read comfortably in low-light, 'repositioned icons' to get you handy on large 6.4-inch screen, 'optiflex' that classifies app based on usage and allocates resources smartly, 'smart volume', 'private listening' to play audio clips through earpiece instead of speakers, dedicated 'smart key' to call Google Assistant or other range of actions, etc., are a few interesting features that let you get things done faster ensuring intuitive user experience.

As far as connectivity options are include, Zenfone 6 has bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5), GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, dual stereo speakers with dual amplifiers, etc.

Above all, design elements of Zenfone 6 are also fantastic. The relatively thin bezels on the edges and slim formfactor aand the 3D curved rear glass cover make the phone get a futuristic look and classy. The Gorilla Glass 6 on the front and 6000-series aluminum frame in the middle resists the device from sudden knocks scraps. Also, the flip camera unit which underwent numerous tests automatically retracts when the phone detects any sudden movement. Sadly, the smartphone is not water or dust resistant and has no wireless charging facility.

Asus ZenFone 6 (6GB + 64GB variant) price starts at 499 EUR (Rs 40,000 approximately), (6GB + 128GB storage) and (8GB + 256GB storage) variants are priced at 599 EUR (Rs. 44,000 approximately)/ currently available through Asus's official store and shipping starts from May 25, 2019/ Comes in twilight silver and midnight black colours.
