Mercedes-Benz Launches Made-In-India E-Class Luxury Sedan

One of German luxury car makers, Mercedes-Benz has launched the long wheel BS 6 compliant luxury executive sedan E-Class in India. Mercedes is offering E-Class sedan in four variants. The new 10th generation E-Class is a comprehensive luxury business sedan with dynamic driving performance and comfort. It also features the most spacious rear cabin in the segment.

It is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The M264 2.0-litre petrol engine delivers 200PS power and 320Nm of torque. The engine accelerates 0-100kmph in just 8 seconds with a top speed of 236kmph. The OM654 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 196PS power and 400Nm of torque. With a top speed of 240kmph, the car speeds up 0-100kmph in just 7.3 seconds. Both the engines are mated to a 9G-Tronic auto transmission.

The New Long wheelbase E-Class not only features two state-of-the-art BS 6 compliant petrol and diesel engines but also hosts new interior appointments and feature additions. These include an intuitive rear touchpad, Burmester high-end surround sound system, wide digital cockpit (12.3-inch touch screen) and a rear wireless charger.

Speaking about the launch, Martin Schwenk, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India commented, “Mercedes-Benz India rolled-out India’s first ‘Made in India, for India’ BS VI vehicle in January 2018. Since then, we have been steadily transitioning our portfolio into BS 6 and the introduction of the BS 6 Long Wheelbase E-Class reiterates our commitment towards the new emission norms from April 2020. The New BS 6 E-Class will fulfil the desire for individuals seeking driving performance, while ensuring it presents the most luxurious rear cabin experience, comprising unparalleled luxury appointments, for those preferring to be chauffeur driven."

Coming to the market rivalry, the car competes with the likes of BMW 5 Series and Audi A6.
