Maruti Suzuki Dzire earlier known as Swift Dzire has become top-selling car in the mid-size sedan segment with sales number of 21,000 units. With a market share of 55 per cent, the third generation Dzire leading the marker by up beating other players in the segment such as Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo, Hyundai Xcent and Ford Aspire.
The car was first launched in the year 2009 as Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire. Recently in 2017 Maruti has introduced third-generation Dzire with roomy interiors and advanced safety features which makes the car an instant hit. According to the company, in this fiscal year 2018-19 alone, Maruti sold 2.5 lakh units of Dzire cars.
Built under the Maruti Suzuki' HEARTECT platform, the Dzire is lighter and offers better than its predecessor due to structural rigidity. Adjustable ORVMs, LED headlamps with DRLs, LED rear combination lamps, and fog lamps with chrome fins, rear AC vents, 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, leather-wrapped steering wheel to name a few key features of the car.
As of now, it is available in petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2-litre petrol engine delivers 84PS power and 113Nm torque whereas the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine delivers 75PS power and 190Nm torque. Both engines are mated with the 5-speed manual and auto gear transmission. Even in the 140kmph speed, the new Dzire is offering stable driving pleasure. Coming to the safety standards, it has dual airbags, pre-tensioner force limiter seat belts, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child-seat mount as standard across the range.
