It is a common practice for automobile manufacturers to introduce new products with attractive designs and new features to stable their position as a leading brand in the market. This year too the Indian automobile industry got a number of new products compared to the previous year. Out of them here we are highlighting UV segment models that grabbed the customer attention with their designs and features.
First Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV) from Ford India. The Ford Freestyle features a 6.5-inch infotainment system which is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Ford's SYNC3 connectivity system. Ford is offering it in both petrol and diesel variants. The 1.2-litre petrol engine delivers 96PS power and 120Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre diesel engine offers 100PS and 215Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, speed sense lock and anti-theft alarm are the key safety features of the car.
It is the first car that has won India's prestigious Premium Car Of The Year award for 2019. The Volvo XC 40 is compact SUV from Swedish luxury car maker. The XC 40 is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that delivers 192PS power and 400Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission along with 4 drive modes - Eco, Comfort, Off-road and Dynamic. Its top speed is limited at 210kmph and it accelerates 0-100kmph in just 7.9 seconds. Coming to the safety standards the car gets Radar-Based Guidance and Safety System, Adaptive Cruise Control with Auto Steering, Run-Off-Road Protection, On Coming Lane Mitigation, Lane Keeping Aid, 7-airbags (Front, Knee and Side), Pilot Assist and Parking Assist. Along with these, Volvo is also offering City Safety Pedestrian, Cyclist and Large Animal Detection system.
The new Marazzo is the first MPV in the Mahindra's line-up. Marazzo is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4- cylinder D15 Diesel engine designed for low noise, vibration and harshness. It delivers 121PS power and 300Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gear transmission. It also offers an attractive ARAI-certified mileage of 17.3kmpl. Mahindra offers a unique package of safety features as standard in all variants of Marazzo - dual front airbags, industry-first disc brakes on all 4 wheels, ISOFIX child seat mounts, high-strength steel structure frame, side-impact beams, impact-sensitive door locks and ABS.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
The 2018 Ertiga is one of the most anticipated cars in the outgoing year. Maruti has launched it with a spacious cabin and aspirational design. It is one of the best selling MPV in the Indian market. Maruti is offering 2018 Ertiga in both Petrol and Diesel engines. The 1.5-litre petrol engine with hybrid tech that delivers 105PS power and 138Nm of torque, gives 19.3kmpl mileage. The 1.3-litre diesel engine generates 90PS power and 200Nm of torque. The 7-seater MPV comes with all the advanced and safety features.
Mahindra Alturas G4
Mahindra's luxurious and flagship SUV Alturas G4 launched recently. It is inspired by Mahindra's Korean based luxury car brand Ssangyong's Rexton. It is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that delivers 180PS power and 420Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a Mercedes-Benz inspired 7-speed auto transmission. It also features 8-inch infotainment with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, steering mounted controls, electronic parking brake, 6-speakers and smart tailgate. Coming to the safety standards, the car comes with 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, Active Rollover Protection (ASP), Traction Control, Hill Start Assist and ISOFIX mounts.
