Hyderabad: In a bid of acquiring a bribe from one of the farmers in Kondurgu village Revenue officer was caught red-handedly by the Anti Corruption Bureau.
According to the reports, the Mamidipally Bhaskar who approached a VRO of Kondurgu for the regularisation of his 9 acres land was asked to pay an amount of Rs 4 lakhs as a bribe which made the disgusting farmer complain to ACB.
In the process of investigation, the ACB officials came to know that the Keshampet Mandal Revenue Officer named V Lavanya is behind this corruption.
The officials of the Anti-Corruption Branch had recovered a huge quantity of gold and cash from the Tahasildar's house on late Wednesday night. The total cash seized from Lavanya's house was around Rs 93.5 lakhs, said an official press release from ACB.
A case is registered and the investigation is underway into the matter.
