Though you are preparing many varieties of rice and haleem for your Iftaar party, but besides them, snacks and sweets are also equally important. And, what are you planning for today's menu? Not yet decided? Then here we have two mouth-watering recipes 'Cheese Samosa' and 'Dates and Dry Fruits Ladoo' for your Iftaar's menu.

Here are the recipes for you. Have a look!

Cheese Samosa

  • Grated processed cheese - 250 gm

  • Chopped red and yellow bell pepper - ¼ cup each

  • Chopped onions - ¼ cup

  • Chopped green chillies - 1-2

  • Chopped garlic - 2 tsp

  • Boiled corn - 2 tbsp

  • Salt to taste

  • A handful of chopped coriander leaves

  • Spring roll sheets - 7-8

  • Cornflour slurry - ¼ cup

  • Oil to deep fry


  1. Into a bowl, mix in the ingredients cheese, chopped bell pepper, onions, green chillies, garlic, corn, coriander leaves and salt to taste.

  2. Take a spring roll sheet and fill it with 1-2 tbsp of the prepared cheese mixture and fold it into the samosa shape by applying the cornflour paste to the ends.

  3. Follow the same to the rest of the spring roll sheets until the cheese mixture is done and set them aside.

  4. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a wok and deep the samosas into golden brown and dish them out.

That's it! The cheese filled crunchy samosas are ready to hit your tummies...

Dates & Dry Fruit Ladoo

  • Seedless chopped dates - 1 cup

  • Pistachios - ¼ cup

  • Almonds - ¼ cup

  • Cashews - ¼ cup

  • Raisins - 3 tbsp

  • Ghee - 1-2 tbsp

  • Cardamom powder - ½ tsp


  1. Blend the chopped dates into a coarse paste and set it aside.

  2. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a wok and fry the chopped nuts - pistachios, cashews, almonds, raisins one by one and dish them out.

  3. Now add remaining ghee and saute blended dates paste until the oil oozes from the sides.

  4. Then goes fried nuts, cardamom powder and mix them well. Take it off the flame and let it cool.

  5. Grease your palms with ghee and take a small portion of prepared dates mixture and shape it like a ball. Do the same for the remaining dates mixture.

And, the delicious dates and dry fruit ladoo is ready to devour now...
