Varalakshmi Vratam is the festival which is celebrated on the second Friday of Sravana Masam where all the married women pleases goddess Lakshmi with special pooja and traditional food. So today, on this special day, we EeYuva have come up with a delectable sweet 'Aata Ki Kheer or Wheat Flour Kheer to offer goddess. So, have a look at the recipe do try it out this festive day...
Ingredients You Need
Wheat flour - 1 cup
Ghee - ¾ cup
Milk - 1½ ltr
A pinch of salt
Pistachios - ¼ cup
Chopped almonds - ¼ cup
Sugar - ½ cup
Cardamom powder - ½ tsp
Heat the ghee in a pan and add the wheat flour and stir it continuously on a medium-low flame. Roast until it turns light brown and aromatic.
Add the salt and stir it well for a while. Then add the milk and keep on stirring with no lumps.
Now add the cardamom powder, pistachios, almonds and stir it well. Set aside a few of the pistachios and almonds to garnish.
Le it cook on a medium flame for about 15-20 minutes till the milk starts thickening. Then goes the sugar, stir it continuously and cook it for 8-10 minutes. Thereafter, off the flame and garnish it with pistachios and almonds.
The delicious 'Wheat Flour Kheer' is ready to please the goddess.
