Besides the spicy non-vegetarian foods, some people crave for delectable sweets on weekends. And to satiate their sweet tooth, they taste various desserts. Are you one among them? Got bored of regular desi desserts? Then here is a luscious Turkish dessert 'Tulumba' for you. The deep fried dough dynamites teamed up with the sugar syrup will make you drool over it. Ingredients You Need

  • Refined flour - 1 ½ cups

  • Butter - 2 tbsptulumba

  • Semolina - 1 ½ tbsp

  • Eggs - 3

  • Sugar - 1 ½ tsp

  • Starch - 2 tbsp

  • Salt - ¼ tsp

  • Water - 1 ½ cup

  • Oil to deep fry

Ingredients For Sugar Syrup

  • Sugar - 2 ½ cups

  • Water - 2 ½ cups

  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp

Directions For Sugar Syrup

Boil the sugar and water along with lemon juice (it avoids crystallization) for 5 to 10 minutes, then take it off the flame and keep it aside.

Directions For Tulumba Batter

  1. In a pan heat the butter, salt, sugar with water till the ingredients melts down and bring it to boil for a while.

  2. Now, add the sieved flour to it and stir it vigorously on a low flame for 5 minutes until a lump-free thick batter is formed.

  3. Take it off the flame and transfer the dough into a wide mouth greased plate, then spread evenly with spatula and let it cool down for sometime.

  4. Now add semolina, starch, eggs to it and knead it well to get a soft dough.

Directions To Prepare Turkish Delight

  1. Heat the oil in a wok. Meanwhile, fill the pastry bag with handful of dough and arrange ½ inch diameter tip.

  2. Carefully, drop the dough of 1 inch length pieces into the oil and let it fry until golden brown. Repeat the process for the remaining dough.

  3. Transfer them into a paper towel to drain the excess oil and then drop the fried tulumba into sugar syrup.
