Who said that non-veg can only be devoured in the weekends? As many people can't wait till the weekend, sometimes they crave for a spicy non-vegetarian dish in the midweek too. Are you the one who belongs to this category? Then, no worries!

Here we have shared a spicy 'Mutton Liver Fry' recipe for you. Believe us, the rich taste of it will definitely satiate your mid-week cravings. Here we go!


  • Mutton liver pieces - 1 kg

  • Salt - 2tsp

  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

  • Chilli powder - 4-5 tsp

  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp

  • Water as required

  • Oil - 3-4 tbsp

  • Chopped onions - 4-5

  • Whole spices (cloves, cinnamon, cardamom)

  • Curry leaves - 1 sprig

  • Slitted green chillies - 2

  • Pepper powder - ¼ tsp

  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp

  • Chopped coriander leaves to garnish

Method To Prepare Mutton Liver Masala

  1. Take the mutton pieces into a bowl and add salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, ginger garlic paste and mix well with your hand.

  2. Then pressure cook this marinated mutton by adding some water (2-3 cups) for 5 whistles on a medium flame.

  3. When the air goes off in the cooker, remove the lid and again on the stove and let it cook for few more minutes until the water reduces completely. Off the flame and set it aside.

  4. Now heat 3-4 tbsp of oil in a pan and add the whole spices, chopped onions, curry leaves, green chillies and let them saute for few minutes.

  5. When the onions turn golden brown, add the cooked mutton liver and gently mix it.

  6. Then add the pepper powder, coriander powder to the mutton and mix them well.

  7. Finally, garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and give a quick stir.

That's it! The spicy, South Indian style Liver Masala is all set to serve. Have it with hot steamed rice to enjoy the heavenly taste...
