Regardless of the occasion, most of the people often crave for spicy non-veg food. Are you one among them? Wanna have a yummy, spicy chicken dish? Well! Here we have a spicy yet scrumptious chicken recipe to satiate your taste buds and it's none other than the popular 'Chicken Tikka Masala'. The palatable chicken tikka cooked in the piquant masala will up your cravings for sure.

So without any waiting, let's jump into the recipe. Here we go!


Ingredients For Marination

  • Boneless chicken - 1 kg

  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp

  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tbspchicken tikka masala

  • Yoghurt - 4 tbsp

  • Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1 tbsp

  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp

  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp

  • Cumin powder - 1 tsp

  • Garam masala - ½ tsp

  • Turmeric powder ½ tsp

  • Salt - 1 tsp

Other Ingredients

  • Onion paste of 2 medium sized onions

  • Oil - 3-4 tbsp

  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tbsp

  • Coriander powder - 1 tbsp

  • Red chilli powder - 2 tsp

  • Cumin powder - 1 tsp

  • Chaat masala - 1 tsp (optional)

  • Garam masala - 1 tsp

  • Salt to taste

  • Water as required

  • Tomato puree - ½ cup

  • Cashew nut powder - 2 tbsp

  • Chopped coriander leaves to garnish

Chicken Marination

Put the chicken pieces into a bowl and add lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, yoghurt, Kashmiri chilli powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, turmeric, salt and mix them well. Let it sit for at least an hour.

Preparation Of Chicken Tikka

  1. Heat a tbsp of oil in a non-stick pan and carefully drop the marinated chicken pieces into it. Don't disturb it for 4-5 minutes.

  2. Then slowly, flip the chicken pieces onto the other side and leave it for 5 more minutes on a medium flame.

  3. Now flip the chicken pieces, then cover and cook it for 8-10 minutes with occasional flipping, until it's done. Make sure that the colour of the chicken should slightly change like grilled ones.

Preparation Of Chicken Tikka Masala

  1. Heat the oil in a pan and add onion paste, ginger-garlic paste and mix them well. Saute it until it turns golden brown.

  2. Now add the spices - coriander powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, garam masala, chaat masala, salt to taste and mix them well. Add a little water and let the spices cook.

  3. When the oil oozes out, add the tomato puree, cashew powder, a cup of water and mix them well. Let it boil for a few minutes and then add the prepared chicken tikka and give a nice mix. Cover and cook it for 5-7 minutes. Off the flame and garnish it with the coriander leaves.
