Pie Crust Recipe

Crust is a base for preparing the pie, which can be available in the market. Of course! You can also prepare it on your own. Here is the preparation process, have a look.

Ingredients List For Crustpie crust

  • Refined flour - 1½ cups

  • Sugar - 1 tbsp

  • Salt - ½ tsp

  • Baking soda - ⅛ tsp

  • Unsalted butter - ½ cup

  • Water for preparing dough

Method To Prepare Crust

  1. Combine all the 'Crust Ingredients' to get a soft dough. Cover and set it aside for an hour in the refrigerator. Then take it out from the fridge and knead the dough thoroughly.

  2. Roll the dough using rolling pin with ½-inch thickness. Grease the pie pan and carefully place the rolled dough and remove the extras. Refrigerate it for 15-20 minutes. The dough is ready for pie crust.

Preparation Of Pecan Pie

  • Pie dough/ pie crust

  • Halved pecans - 2 cups

  • Unsalted butter - ⅔ cup

  • Corn syrup - ⅔ cup

  • Brown sugar - 1 cup

  • Vanilla essence - 2 tsp

  • Eggs - 3

  • Salt - ¼ tsp

  • Whipped cream for garnishing and vanilla ice cream for serving

Method To Prepare

  1. First, preheat the oven at 190o C. Melt the brown sugar in heated butter and take it off the flame. Now stir in corn syrup, vanilla essence, salt, eggs.

  2. Now take the prepared pie dough and design the edges of it per your choice and fill it with halved pecans.

  3. Pour the sugar mixture over pecans and spread it evenly with spatula. Let it bake at 180º C for 50-60 minutes. Take it out and let it cool completely. Finally, garnish it with the whipped cream.
