We EeYuva is here to help you. Today, we are here with a scrumptious mutton recipe i.e., 'Mutton Masala'. Try it out and we bet that you definitely love the dish. Here we go!

Ingredients You Need

For Marination

  • Mutton - 750 gm

  • Salt to tastemutton masala

  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp

  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp

  • Curd - ½ cup

Other Ingredients

  • Ghee - 4 tbsp

  • Bay leaf - 2-3

  • Cardamom pods - 3-4

  • Cloves - 3-4

  • Cinnamon - 1 inch piece

  • Sliced onions - 5-6 medium

  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp

  • Green chilli paste - 1 tbsp

  • Turmeric powder - ½ tsp

  • Coriander powder - 2 tbsp

  • Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp

  • Puree of 3 medium tomatoes

  • Salt to taste

  • Hot water - 1-2 cups

  • Garam masala - 1 tsp

  • Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tbsp

Preparation Of Mutton Masala

  1. First let's marinate the mutton. For this, take a bowl and add mutton pieces, some salt, ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, curd and mix them well. Set this aside for at least 30-60 minutes.

  2. Now heat the ghee in a large pan and add bay leaves, cardamom pods, cloves, cinnamon and saute them for a while.

  3. Add the onion slices and saute them well until golden brown. Then add ginger garlic paste, green chilli paste and give a nice stir and leave for 3-4 minutes.

  4. Now add the marinated mutton and mix it well for few minutes. Cover and cook it for 20-30 minutes on a medium flame with occasional stirring.

  5. Thereafter add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and stir it well. Let it cook for another 15-20 minutes.

  6. Now add the tomato puree, salt to taste and mix it well and leave for 5-10 minutes. Pour the hot water and mix it. Cover and cook it for 15-20 minutes and keep on stirring at regular intervals.

  7. Adjust the water if required. Finally add the garam masala, coriander leaves and give a quick stir. Off the flame and dish it out.

The hot, mouth-watering 'Mutton Masala' is ready to serve now. Have it with roti or hot steamed rice.
