To satiate the cravings of all the non-veg lovers, today we are here with a scrumptious meat recipe and it's 'Mutton Ghee Roast'. Though it's a time taking procedure but it's very simple to prepare and yummy as well. So, let's get started into the recipe...
Ingredients
Cleaned mutton pieces - 500 gm
Ghee - ¼ cup + 2 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Yoghurt - 1 tbsp
Turmeric - ½ tsp
Salt to taste
Ingredients For Mutton Masala
Dried red chillies - 8-10
Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Cloves - 4-5
Cinnamon - 1
Star anise - 1
Peppercorns - 8-10
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
Ginger - 1 small piece
Garlic - 2 cloves
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Water as required
Preparation Of Masala
Dry roast all the masala ingredients - coriander seeds, cumin seeds, dried red chillies, cloves, cinnamon, star anise, peppercorns and fennel seeds.
Blend all these ingredients by adding ginger, garlic cloves, lemon juice and little water into a paste. Keep it aside.
Preparation Of Mutton Ghee Roast
Add 2 tbsp of ghee, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste and turmeric in a pressure cooker and give them a nice stir.
Now add the mutton pieces into it and mix them well; saute this for 3-4 minutes.
Add some water and pressure cook it for 4-5 whistles i.e., until the mutton becomes tender on a medium flame.
If you find excess water, separate them and keep that broth aside.
Now heat the remaining ghee in a pan and add the masala paste, yoghurt and mutton broth with some salt. Cook it until the gravy becomes thick.
Finally, add the cooked mutton pieces to the gravy and let it cook for about 4-5 min. Off the flame and transfer it to a bowl.
That's it! The spicy and tasty 'Mutton Ghee Roast' is ready to devour now...
