Ingredients You Need

  • Mutton - ¼ Kg

  • Sliced Onions - ½ Kg

  • Tomato - 1 large

  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp

  • Coriander powder - 2 tsp

  • Turmeric powder - ½ tsp

  • Red chilli powder - 3 tsp

  • Black pepper - 8-10

  • Cloves - 4

  • Cardamom - 2 pods

  • Cinnamon - 1 piece

  • Bay leaves - 2

  • Red chillies - 4-5

  • Garam masala powder - ½ tsp

  • Coriander leaves to garnish

  • Oil or ghee - 2 tbsp

  • Water as required

  • Salt to taste


  1. Heat the oil in a wok and add the whole spices - cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper, cloves, red chillies and bay leaves and fry them.

  2. Now add the onions and saute them for 5-7 minutes. When the colour of the onions changes, add the mutton pieces and let it cook for 5 minutes.

  3. Then after, add the ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and give them a stir.

  4. Now add the sliced tomatoes, salt, garam masala powder to the mutton and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.

  5. Then add two glasses of water, stir them and close the lid. Let it cook for at least 30-40 minutes until the oil oozes out from the sides and mutton becomes tender.

  6. Finally, it's time to take it off the flame and garnish it with the chopped coriander leaves.
