When it comes to the mushrooms, most of the people do not like to include it in their menu. Are you one among them? Worry not! Here we have come up with a super-delicious mushroom recipe i.e., 'Mushroom Matar Masala'.

The soft mushrooms cooked in the tomato-onion gravy with the added spices and green peas will make you drool over it. And, we bet that after tasting it, you will definitely love it to the core. And moreover, it's one of the best combos to your regular rotis and chapatis. Here is the recipe for you. Have a look!


  • Button Mushrooms - 200 gm (sliced)

  • Green peas - 1 cupmushroom matar masala

  • Chopped onion - 1 large

  • Chopped tomatoes - 2 medium

  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tbsp

  • Garam masala - 1 tsp

  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp

  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp

  • Red chili powder - 1 tsp

  • Cashew paste - 3-4 tbsp

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil as required

  • Chopped coriander leaves to garnish

Preparation Of Matar Mushroom Masala

  1. Heat 2-3 tbsp of oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add the chopped onions and saute them until translucent.

  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and give a nice mix for a while. Now add the tomatoes, little salt and mix them well. Cover and let it cook until tomatoes become soft and mushy.

  3. Now add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, required salt, cashew paste and give them a nice mix. Leave it for a few minutes.

  4. Add a ¼th cup of water and give a quick stir. Then add green peas, mushrooms and mix them well.

  5. Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes or until it's done. Finally, garnish it with the chopped coriander leaves and off the flame.

The delicious 'Matar Mushroom' curry is all set to devour now. Have it with the roti or naan...
