Methi Thepla! Have you ever heard about it? Probably not! It is one of the popular Gujarati dishes which is made of fresh fenugreek leaves, wheat flour and other spices. In other words we can say it as a flat-bread or methi roti. And moreover, one can replace their regular rotis with these delicious 'Theplas' which can be made in no time.
So today, we EeYuva have doled out the recipe of Methi Thepla. Have a look and give it a try...
Wheat flour - 1 cup
Gram flour - ¼ cup
Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Asafoetida - ¼ tsp
Salt to taste
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Fresh fenugreek leaves - 2 small bunches
Curd - 1 tbsp
Water as required
Oil as required
Into a bowl mix in the ingredients - wheat flour, gram flour, turmeric powder, chilli powder, asafoetida, salt, cumin seeds and chopped fenugreek leaves.
Now add 1-2 tsp of oil, curd and mix it well. Start adding required water and knead it into a soft dough. Close it and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
Thereafter, divide the dough into equal portions and roll them into a medium-sized chapati.
Heat the tawa and roast the rotis by adding a little oil/ ghee on both the sides.
The hot and tasty 'Methi Thelpas' are ready to devour now. Have it with a spicy chutney or curd or any gravy curry.
