And, the festive month 'Karthika Masam' is going to end by this week and moreover, today is the last Monday of it. So, the devotees propitiate god with traditional cook-ups and poojas. Well! As we have already shared you some special Karthika Masam recipes this month. So, today also we have come up with the special sweet 'Ragi Coconut Ladoo' to offer Lord Shiva. Have a look!
Ragi/Finger millet flour - 1 cup
Grated coconut - ¼ cup
Grated jaggery - ½ cup
Ghee - 2-3 tbsp
Chopped nuts (cashews and almonds) - 8-10
Cardamom powder - ¼ tsp
Method To Prepare Ragi Ladoo
Heat 2 tbsp of ghee in a pan and roast the nuts until they turn golden brown and dish them out.
Into the same pan, add the ragi flour and mix it continuously until it turns aromatic on a low flame. Meanwhile, blend the grated jaggery for few seconds and set it aside.
Thereafter, add the grated coconut, jaggery, cardamom powder to the ragi flour and mix them well. Off the flame and add the roasted nuts and give them a quick stir.
Dish out the ragi mixture into a plate and let it cool for a few minutes. Remember that it should not get completely cooled.
Add a tbsp of ghee to the mixture and start making equal sized balls. You can also add some warm milk to shape the mixture.
