Being a chicken lover, you might have devoured many chicken recipes. But have you ever tasted the traditional 'Chicken Shorva'? If not, then give it a try. The yummy regional special chicken curry prepared the rich spices will satiate your taste buds for sure. Here we have doled out the recipe. So without giving a miss, get your hands on this recipe. Chicken - ¾ Kg
Curd - 1 cup
Chopped onion - 1 cup
Coconut powder - 2 tbsp
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Coriander powder - 1½ tbsp
Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Spices for sauteing (1 small stick cinnamon, 4 cloves, 2 cardamoms, ½ tsp caraway seeds, 2 bay leaf)
Whole spices powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
Chopped coriander leaves - ½ cup
Salt to taste
Oil and water as required
Preparation For Chicken Shorva
Mix in the curd, coconut powder, coriander powder, chili powder along with sufficient water to make it a semi-thick liquid and set it aside.
Heat the oil in a wok and saute the spices and chopped onions until golden brown, then add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder and fry them for a minute.
It's time to add chicken and let it cook on high flame for 5 minutes with stirring. Then, goes prepared curd mixture along with some water to immerse the chicken and allow it to cook on low flame with closed lid until the chicken becomes tender.
Finally, sprinkle the whole spices powder, chopped coriander leaves and let it sit on simmer for 2 more minutes.
That's it! Dish it out and serve the finger-licking 'Chicken Shorva' with hot steamed rice...
