Ingredients You Need

  • Seer fish - 4 pieces

  • Coconut oil to shallow frychettinad fish fry

Ingredients For Masala

  • Cumin seeds - 2 tsp

  • Fennel seeds - 2 tsp

  • Coriander seeds - 1 tsp

  • Black peppercorns - 1 tsp

  • Cloves - 8-10

  • Red chillies - 10-12

  • Turmeric powder - ½ tsp

  • Asafoetida - ½ tsp

  • Onion shallots - 10

  • Garlic cloves - 4

  • Salt to taste

Preparation

  1. Dry roast the ingredients - cumin seeds, fennel seeds, coriander seeds, peppercorns, cloves, red chillies until the aroma comes out and add the turmeric powder, asafoetida and give a quick stir. Blend these roasted spices into a fine powder and set it aside.

  2. Blend the onion shallots and garlic cloves into a smooth paste.

  3. Now into a bowl add 2 tsp of onion-garlic paste, 3-4 tsp of masala powder, salt to taste and mix them well.

  4. Now apply this prepared masala paste on both sides of the fishes and let them sit for at least 30 minutes.

  5. Then heat the coconut oil in a pan and shallow fry the marinated fish pieces on both the sides until it's completely done.
