They have extended their presence into numerous ventures such as establishing production houses, producing movies, starting restaurants and outlets etc. Especially, a few leading stars have initiated their own production houses and started producing movies.

Amitabh Bachchan had come-up with a production company named Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Ltd (ABCL) in 1995. Apart from production works, it is also into organising events. Initially, the company suffered a huge loss that lead to bankruptcy. However, the legendary actor managed to drag the company out of debts after doing a television show named ''Kaun Banega Crorepati''. The company made a come back in 2001, and it was renamed as AB Corp.
Salman Khan runs a production house named Salman Khan Films (SKF). It was established in 2014. The income earned from this firm goes to charity. The Mumbai based production house created films such as Dr. Cabbie, Chillar Party, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Hero, Tubelight, Race 3, Loveyatri, & Bharat.
Shahrukh Khan too forayed into this segment and started Red Chillies Entertainment in 2002. It also owns a visual effect studio named ''Red Chillies VFX'' in Mumbai. The house also owns another entity named 'TVC Division', which produces ads for global brands like Pepsi, Nokia, Hyundai, ITC and Emami.
Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan also started a production firm called 'AKP', Aamir Khan Productions in 1999. Lagaan was the first movie which came out from this banner. Initially, no one showed any interest in the project Laagan. Thus, Khan himself decided to take up the project. We all know Lagaan went on to become a huge hit at the box-office.
Akshay Kumar is no different from his co-stars as he also started a production film under the banner Hari Om Productions. It was established in 2008. The company delivered a few hit movies like Singh Is King, Khatta Meetha, OMG-Oh My God, Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty, Airlift, Pad Man, etc. The actor also launched another production house named ''Grazing Goat Pictures'' in 2012.
The 10th Nawab of Pataudi, Saif Ali Khan owns a production house named Illuminati Films. It was established in partnership with Dinesh Vijan (Producer of movies Being Cyrus, Love Aaj Kal) in 2009. Love Aaj Kal was the first movie that came out from this firm, and other movies include Agent Vinod, Cocktail, Go Goa Gone, Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, and Happy Ending.
