Sequels or prequels are often practised in Hollywood and it is intriguing part of film making which advances the existing work (story). Sequels are primarily driven by two aspects either by characters or by the theme. However most of the film makers go for sequels based on the audience perspectives that are acquired from the original content. Yet all the sequels not necessarily do well at box office, but it enhances the existing story and entertains the audience. Indian cinema has produced numerous sequels and here are some of them which are going to hit the screens in near future.
Raju Gari Gadhi 2
Akkineni Nagarjuna and his daughter-in-law (Samantha) starrer Raju Gari Gadhi 2 is the sequel to the director Ohmkar's 2015 horror comedy flick Raju Gari Gadhi. The movie bagged huge success at box office. The trailer of the flick has garnered good buzz and the film is going to hit the screens on October 13.
Director Rohit Shetty, best known for making sequels, is now back with same madness, fun and craziness to entertain the audience with his fourth instalment of the Golmaal franchise. All the three sequels of the franchise have entertained the viewers a lot and now the latest sequel Golmaal Again is releasing on October 20 to fill your hearts with laughter and joy.
Tiger Zinda Hai
After delivering a blockbuster hit with Salman Khan starrer Sultan, Ali Abbas Zafar is now directing the sequel to 2012 flick Ek Tha Tiger. This spy thriller is scheduled for Christmas release i.e on December 22. This winter is definitely going to be warm with the action episodes of Sallu bhai. Katrina Kaif who is playing female lead looks fabulous.
The much awaited comedy flick of the year, Fukrey Returns, which serves as sequel to the 2013 Fukrey is all set to release on December 8. The film starts from where it ended in the first instalment. One can witness the fate and future of those four characters in the second instalment.
Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani starrer Baaghi 2 directed by Ahmed Khan is the second part of the 2016 film Baaghi. The film which is based on the marshal arts is slated for 2018 release.
Superstar Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0, which is the second instalment to 2010 Robot is all set to hit the screens in January 2018. Maverick director Shankar who is known for his technical brilliance is directing the movie with a huge budget of 400 crore, one of the most costliest film ever made in Indian cinema. And it is the first Indian film to be shot in 3D. Model turned actress Amy Jackson is playing the female lead in the movie.
Vishwaroopam 2 is an upcoming spy thriller directed by Kamal Haasan himself is likely to hit the screens next year. The first look poster of the flick is quite intriguing with kamal Haasan showing his respect to the national flag and the country.
It is the third instalment of the Race series, which stars Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Bobby Deol. The film is set for Eid 2018 release.
Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3
The third instalment of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 is gearing up for 2018 release. The crime action thriller stars Sanjay Dutt in lead role.
There are few more sequels such as Salman's Kick, Sanju baba's Sadak, Akshay Kumar's Houseful and Jolly LLB, Vidyut Jummal's Commando on board, which are yet to be confirmed.
