After being a client to 'Megastar' Amitabh Bachchan in the film Pink, Taapsee Pannu now turns into a defence lawyer to the veteran actor Rishi Kapoor in the upcoming courtroom drama titled Mulk.
Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the trailer of the film got released a while ago. Set on the true events, the plot reminiscences Hindu-Muslim conflicts which were held years back. The story revolves around a family who is struct on terror charges in connection with the bomb blast due to their religion (Muslim) and the member of the family having links with the terrorist's activities.
Tapsee who plays the role of a lawyer comes in rescue for the Rishi Kapoor's family to make them free from all sort of problems. Ashutosh Rana who is roped in for a pivotal role as a public prosecutor is at his best in making the trailer so interesting and worthy.
Going by the visuals and the plot of the story, more or less it takes you back to 1995 hit film Bombay, which deals with the same subject of claiming Muslims as terrorists.
The trailer ends of with a powerful dialogue delivered by Rishi Kapoor, “Ye ghar mera bhi utna hi hai jitna aapka hai. Aur agar aap meri daadhi aur Osama Bin Laden ki daadhi mein fark nahi kar sakte toh bhi mujhe haq hai meri sunnat nibhaane ka!” and sums up his battle to prove his innocense.
Produced by Deepak Mukut and Anubhav Sinha under Soham Rockstar Entertainment banner, the flick is all set to hit the screens on August 3.
