It's been one and half a month stepping into the year 2019. Last year has been a very good year for Bollywood filmdom be it producers, filmmakers, actors with the films doing a big business. This year too, Bollywood started off well with the film URI: The Surgical Strike which garnered a decent collection and followed by Manikarnika, Gully Boy and etc., faring well at box office.
Let's have a look at trade report of the films released in the recent past of 2019...
The Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt starrrer film was released on Thursday, Feb 14 on the occasion of Valentine's Day. And the film lived up to the strategy with a bumper opening day figures. The film collected about Rs 18 crore on the first day. Ranveer Singh has now established himself as the new superstar of Hindi films with a line-up of huge hits.
One more attempt by Sachin Joshi to make his place as an actor in Hindi films failed badly with fewer collections.
Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga
The idea of bringing the father-daughter duo of Anil Kapoor and Sonam did not attract the audience. The film, which collected Rs 16 crore in its first week, may add just about Rs Rs 2 crore for a week or two.
The Kangana Ranaut starrer has added Rs 9.5 crore in its third week taking its three week total to Rs 87.5 crore.
Uri: The Surgical Strike
The flick continued its great run even in its fifth week. The film collected about Rs. 19 crore, taking its five-week tally to Rs. 218 crore.
