It is known that Ayushmann Khurrana is playing the role of a cop in his upcoming film Article 15, a story based on Badaun rape incident that took place in 2014.
The incident took place on this day five years back i.e May 27, 2014 in Katra village of Budaun district, Uttar Pradesh, where two teenage girls were gang-raped and murdered by hanging them while they are still alive.
Marking the completion of five years for this incident, the makers of Article 15 shared the film's first look poster, in which Ayushmann is seen in cop avatar wearing glasses with an intense face. On one of the lenses, we can see the bodies of two girls hanging from a tree. On the other lens, we can see people protesting for justice.
Khurrana will be joined by a stellar support cast comprising of Isha Talwar, Manoj Pahwa , Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra, M Naser, Ashish Verma, Sushil Pandey, Subrajyoti Bharat and Zeeshan Ayub in the film.
Article 15 is directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by Banaras Media Works. The film is slated to hit the screens on June 28.
